Life as a mum is incredibly busy. In fact, it’s so busy that we’re often so preoccupied with taking care of our little ones that we forget to take care of ourselves. 1. Stop Washing Every Day

Washing your hair every day may seem like the best way to keep it in a great condition, but that simply isn’t true. The more you wash your hair, the more natural oils you strip from it, which can leave it feeling dry and limp. It’s much healthier to skip a few washes and allow those oils to do their work. Stick to only washing your hair two or three times a week and use dry shampoo or a sprinkle of baby powder to soak up any extra oils when your hair starts to look greasy.

2. Try A Cold Shower

Mums tend to have quick showers anyway, but many would rather skip washing altogether than endure having a cold one. However, there is a method to this madness. While warm water helps shampoo and conditioner do their jobs, cold water will close the cuticle, sealing in the moisture from the conditioner. This will help your hair look healthier and shinier. Because of this, you should take warm showers, but rinse your hair off at the end with a spray of cold water.

3. Invest In Silk Pillowcases

Anyone who has ever slept in silk bed sheets knows how comfy and luxurious they can feel. However, very few people are aware of the many silk pillowcase benefits, one of which is less friction and frizz for your hair. Because silk is so soft and smooth, it results in less friction when you sleep. This means that you’re less likely to wake up with ridiculously frizzy and messy bed hair. This reduced friction also means that you’ll suffer from many fewer split ends.

Like most other parts of your body, a healthy and balanced diet can help to keep your hair healthy. Unfortunately, as much as you may try to get all that you need out of your foods, it isn’t always possible. For this reason, you may want to start taking a supplement. There are many on the market right now that are packed full of vitamins and minerals necessary for healthy hair. Just make sure that you check with your doctor before you begin taking one.

5. Embrace Your Natural Texture

Spending hours straightening, curling, and crimping your hair is a struggle for busy moms, but it’s also not very kind on your hair. Even if you use a heat-protecting product, there will still be some damage to endure. Embracing your natural hair, on the other hand, requires no time whatsoever, and keeps your hair healthy. If your natural hair isn’t a texture that you’re too fond off, then try braiding your hair before you go to sleep for some quick and easy waves in the morning.

6. Drink Plenty Of Water

Drinking plenty of water, like eating healthy, benefits our bodies in many ways, one of which being your hair. When the rest of your body is hydrated, your hair will be too, which will help to keep it strong. This strength means that your strands will be less prone to splitting or breaking. The stronger your hair is, the quicker it will grow too. If you’re not a fan of water, then try adding a few slices of fruit to your bottles to give them a little flavour.
