It still blows my mind that I have a second kid & I can’t believe it is already time for a three month baby update. Turns out keeping a human alive the first time around wasn’t a complete fluke, I’ve gone & done it again!
Somebody messaged me in Instagram the other day and asked how I was finding having two children & it still blows my mind that there are two of them! The past three months have been somewhat of a whirlwind. We spent the first 3 weeks of Oliver’s life out & about, life was seemingly normal and then the entire country, actually, the entire world went into lockdown and it has been that way ever since.
I’ve been trying really hard not to dwell on the fact or i’ll get hell-a emosh and i’m already on the borderline of a sob fest so we’ll keep it sweet. I thought I would share a 3 month baby update with you because.. I like em’. I love reading back on Teddy’s very early days! So here goes..
I’ll start with this basics.
He is a DREAM. He is exclusively breastfed, on demand, just like his brother was and I feel so much more confident & laid back this time around. I am planning on sharing a whole breastfeeding journey #2 post at some point. Much like any baby he goes through phases of feeding every 30 minutes or every 3 hours. It all depends what mood he is in.
He only wakes once in the night, anytime between 12-2am and then he comes out of his Next 2 Me and we co-sleep the rest of the night. He usually stirs around 6:30ish and then dozes until 7/7:30am depending when Teddy wakes up.
He is a pretty chilled out baby during the day although getting him to have decent little naps is… not easy, haha BUT he sleeps amazing at night so you know, swings & roundabouts.
I forgot how much I LOVE baby smiles. Like, seriously, they are the best things ever. Their gummy smiles make every single little thing better.
He is obsessed with watching his brother do..anything & loves being naked.
Motherhood the second time around is such a different experience. I am more confident and embracing the whole thing so much more than I did with Teddy. With your second child you really do realise how quickly the baby days pass you by.
Don’t get me wrong. The first week of solo parenting after Aaron went back to work was a little OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE? But we quickly found our little groove and have a very loose routine down that works for us.
I really do feel like Oliver has completed our family perfectly. It is like he has always been here.
