January was a longgggg but fairly productive month! I like to consider January a bit of a trial month when it comes to new years resolutions and that but we are currently a week into February and it aint really looking much better so you know.. March might be slightly better? LOL. If you haven’t joined in with our linky before just read all the information & rules. Here are the five things I loved in January!
FIVE THINGS LINKY
If you read my January Reading Wrap Up post, you will know I managed to read quite a few books last month & I really enjoyed reading! I have always been a huge reader & book lover, since I was a kid and that hasn’t changed at all. Especially since having Teddy – it has become my escape & safe place when things are a bit crappy. I also started an Instagram book club last month with some lovely ladies and so far, so good! We are reading new genres that we possibly wouldn’t have tried before!
I think I am slightly late to this party as I haven’t finished the series yet but I am loving it!! It’s so incredibly funny & I literally laugh out loud every single episode. I love the characters, their relationships & all their personalities are so well thought out. The actors are incredible, although I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that the main male lead played the kid from The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas film, which is incredible if you haven’t already seen it.
Now this may be slightly random but I have become obsessed with meal planning. I’ve always done a basic plan before we do a food shop but never really stuck to it, but as I am making more of an effort to cook from scratch more often as a family. I am also making more of an effort to try a new recipe every week! It’s so easy to fall into a rut and eat the same things week in & week out, but that isn’t fun for anyone! I have a little notebook where I write down meals I want to try and make, and incorporate them into the meal plan, along with firm family favourites.
Always a favourite obviously but in January we welcomed a new addition to the madhouse! My Sister welcomed her fourth baby, a gorgeous little boy! After three girls I nearly fell through the floor when she had a boy! Gorgeous baby Kit is the cutest little thing and I literally want to squeeze his beautiful little face (I won’t obviously but you know how it is). There are only 20 months between him & Teddy so I know they are going to grow up to be the best of friends! Teddy is so lucky to have three older girls guiding him & teaching him things, so the fact he now has a little cousin is crazy! We are all going to Spain in September (including my mum & dad) it is going to be AMAZING!
I have always had a love/hate relationship with photography but recently I am really enjoying using my camera more. I think a lot of the hate comes with self doubt and not knowing what the hell I am doing with a camera LOL. I’ve come to the realisation that as long as i’m enjoying myself & having fun taking photos, then that is all that matters. My favourite pictures at the minute having been Teddy playing in the snow & also book based photography!
