5 Things To Do After You’ve Published A New Blog Post.

after blog post

Last week I shared my top tips for things I do before I publish a new blog post & I figured it would be a good idea to give you some insight into what I like to do after I have posted one as well. I am by no means a blogging expert but I’ve gotten a pretty good idea of what works for me, over the past (almost) six years.

PIN YOUR IMAGE TO PINTEREST

I have a Pinterest board specifically for my blog, I share all my new posts and Instagram images on there & it makes it so much easier to have them all in one place. I post on my blog board first, then over the next week I share them on any other relevant boards, such as “Blogging”, “Parenting”, “Beauty”, whichever boards it fits with, I will pin in there with any hastags that are also relevant.

PIN TO ANY PINTEREST BOARDS YOU ARE A PART OF

Along with sharing in your own board, I also share in any other group boards that I am in. I either post in them straight away or over a couple of days using a scheduler. This way your pin will be on numerous boards & will give you a chance to have your posts seen by more people.

SHARE, SHARE, SHARE

I like to share as soon as a new post goes live on all my social media, including Instagram, Facebook & Twitter. There is no point writing a kick-ass post & not sharing it anywhere for people to read. I also add in a photo with all my links, as tweets with images tend to perform better. For Facebook I use my pinnable image that I created for the post however for Instagram I share whatever picture takes my fancy (how professional of me..) & also put the link in my bio. Don’t share all at the same time, as it looks really spammy. I tend to share across my channels over a couple of hours.

SCHEDULE YOUR POST FOR TWITTER

Once I shared across all my social media, I will then go onto BUFFER, which I use for scheduling on Twitter & Facebook. As Twitter feeds move so quickly it is easy for your tweets to get lost amongst the masses so I tend to schedule my new post to be shared once a day over the next couple of days, that way it has a chance of being seen.

RESPOND TO COMMENTS

This is something that I’ve always struggled to keep up with, & I’ve no idea why! I absolutely love receiving comments on my blog so I am trying my hardest this year to reply to every single one I get. It’s so important to engage with your audience, whether it’s through comments, tweets or Instagram. If people have taken the time to leave you a message, it’s important you return the same courtesy.

I hope you found these useful & if you’d like to see any other blogging tips please let me know! Also, what is something you make sure you do every time you post a new blog post?
